Happy 34th Birthday to me!

My dear friend (let's call her "The Knitter") knitted me this unbelieveable hat for my birthday. This friend also knitted Surrey's baby hat. I keep telling "The Knitter" that between Surrey and me, we are walking adverts, if she only did this for a business. She's so talented, I am jealous. I love my new hat.

The Nutcracker

On Tuesday, December 29, 2009-Darrin took Megan to see Ballet West's "The Nutcracker." Darrin had been wanting to take Megan on her own Daddy/Daughter date for quite some time and so thought this would be the perfect opportunity and it was. Megan dressed in her Princess Aurora dress and pink sparkly shoes (all Megan's doing). (Good thing though, as that Princess Aurora dress came directly from Disneyland and for $60, I am glad she could wear it again, other than Halloween.)
Megan and Darrin had a really fun time. Until the drive home. Our poor Megan takes after me in that she gets carsick really easy. And as Darrin pulled in the driveway, literally, the throw ups came. And it would happen to be the week that our brand new washing machine is still broken. Waiting on parts to be delivered...three weeks and counting. Don't get me started! Needless to say, we had to handwash the dress. Megan surely felt better though and still raved about the ballerinas.

She's A King!

During the Christmas Season, I tend to leave out my pile of Christmas wrapping "stuff." Megan got a hold of all my Christmas stickers and managed to nicely and evenly place them across Surrey's forehead. Megan even taped over some for reinforcement. When I saw what Megan was doing, she replied with: "Mom, look. Surrey's a king..." and apparently, this is her crown. We actually all laughed until the stickers had to come off...
