St George Half (Snow Canyon)

Well, I decided with a couple of running friends to run the St George Half Marathon in November. I don't know what I am thinking or even if I will be able to finish all 13.1 miles in a couple of hours, but I am going for it. Having a newborn and so little sleep (in fact it's 5:12am and I have been up for an hour and a half already) the training will be a little rigourous, but I am so anxious to take this weight off before the holidays. So, heading to my room for clothes and running shoes. Goal today: 6 miles... (in 60 minutes-not going for time, just trying to run) ;)!

Our Sweet Megan

Our Megan has a habit of falling asleep anywhere. And for those who have witnessed it, we mean anywhere: barstools, cement patios, the hardwood floor, her bed, the sofa, the front door mat, and the stairs. Apparently, she got tired of being on the stairs for more than an hour that she moved to the chair. I am sure the chair was a lot more comfortable.
(**I have tried moving here from the uncomfortable position she seems to be in. But, she always gets angry. This time, I just supervised her, to make sure she didn't fall down the stairs.)

Getting Ready for Disneyland

Microsoft put Darrin on the Disney project. On his last trip to LA, the Disney programmers took Darrin to the Disney store to buy pressie's for the kids. Both Megan and Surrey got a Minnie doll, while Jack has his official Mickey. Darrin wanted to get the children pumped up for our trip to Disneyland in 3 weeks. We all couldn't be more excited and anxious for this long awaited (and needed) trip.
In the mean time, poor Little Surrey, as the children keep piling their dolls on her!

Swimming

Knowing that this will probably be our last nice summeryish weather, we thought we would enjoy taking a trip to our neighborhood pool, which happens to be across the street from our house. Darrin played with the kids, while Aly held Surrey taking pictures. The children had a blast. I think even Darrin had a good time, being in the sun for a minute.

Megan's First Day of Preschool

We decided to enroll Megan into our local elementary school's integrated preschool. (Jack went to the same preschool for the previous two years as a non delayed student.) We were so impressed with the teacher and all her aids (2:1 ratio-not shabby). We also loved how it allowed Jack to mentor/mirror other children, especially those with special needs/delays. It's an awesome program and this year, two of her friends decided to do the preschool program with Megan. Plus, since it's at our elementary school, it gets Megan used to going to the school where she will enroll in Kindergarten.
