It's been one of those weeks... First, Megan's first two words are: "No!" (got that from me) and "mine!" (learned that from Jack). I have never admitted that I am the perfect mom, but I sure try every day.
Second, funny mommy incident with Jack. Yesterday morning, I thought I would quickly check my e-mail before heading over to Costco when Jack comes running into my room holding his bottom while yelling in panic mode: "Mommy, mommy, I have to go poopies right now! They're touching my underpants. Hurry! Hurry!" I quickly picked up Jack and headed straight to my WC. We undid his pants and put him on the toilet and Jack's immediate response was: "Phew mommy, that was a close one!" LOL, at least I did and no poopies were found in the shorts.
Lastly, Darrin, Jack, and I were enjoying a bowl of popcorn, while watching the final race of "Cars" together tonight, when I thought I bit into a kernel. We all heard a loud crunch and so assumed it was the kernel. Nope! It was my tooth. Aren't I too young to break a tooth on a cooked piece of corn? But then again, while my parents were visiting us in England, my mom broke her tooth on a piece of Cadbury's chocolate! Now who breaks their tooth on a soft center? It must be our genes...it still means I have to see Dr. Almond first thing Monday (good thing he is my neighbor)!

Fishing 2007
Saturday, September 8, 2007-It's now become a family tradition to go fishing with dad's ward. (Dad happens to be in charge of it, hence the invite.) A week ago, Darrin, me, Jack and Megan drove over to Cabela's for a fishing pole, tackle box, and all the stuff that goes in the box-don't ask mom for the details, as she doesn't know the terminology for fishing and it's "stuff.".
Darrin started practicing fishing with Jack off our back deck tossing the line and realing it back in...is that correct fishing lingo? I am totally clueless when it comes to things in the nature! Any who, the morning started off with a pancake breakfast at my parents. Then the boys (Dad, Dan, & Darrin) and the kiddos (Hayley, Kenzie, Nathan, & Jack with) along with The Real's (ward family) headed off to Tibble Fork to fish. According to Darrin, there were lots of fish, but none were biting. Needless to say, Jack and Darrin had a great time.

Dinosaur Museum Day
To celebrate Mac's 4th birthday, we met at the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point to kick off the festivities. Paige & Reagan Ford, Jack and Megan Allred, and all the McClellan's (minus Anna) ran, played, and played more while roaming the grounds at the Dinosaur Museum! It was lots of fun for the children, while allowing us adult moms to chat for a minute. After a couple of hours, we all headed over to Nanny and Papa's for a family BBQ and lots of Costco birthday cake. I can still taste the buttercream frosting...yum! Happy Birthday Mac. ~Friday, September 7, 2007~

First Day of School
Never thought that this day would come, but it has. Jack started pre-school (September 4, 2007). We arrived early, since I wasn't sure when exactly he had to be there. Jack didn't want his picture taken, but loved wearing his new spiderman backpack! Jack went to his teacher without a problem. He took her hand and that was thought. I admit that the tears welled up for a sec, as I thought of him being a big boy and attending school. But then my day care days came back, remembering how wonderful his teachers were and then realized that Jack WILL BE OK! This is good for him. Then it dawned on me, I can have free time while he is at school (Megan's nap time). Maybe I can actually get a decent run in a couple times of week. Maybe this pre-school thing will be better than I think...
Labor Day 2007
Monday, September 3, 2007- After I got home from work, we (meaning myself and Darrin) thought it would be fun to take the children out on a fun outing. So we went to Boonedocks! Well, after waiting 45 minutes in line for the water bumper cars, it was finally our turn. The children had fun-especially after melting in line! Unfortunately, we didn't stay...Megan was just way too tired. Next time, we have to plan to head there earlier in the day and when everyone in Salt Lake County isn't there too.
