We think we found Jack (and soon to be Megan’s) sport. This past Saturday (June 6, 2009), Jack had his first "time trial" swim meet. (The first and official league swim meet is at the end of this month.) Aly was thrilled to hear that our local fitness club has a team and so was anxious to enroll Jack. Jack and Megan both have always loved the water (still do). Megan is getting impatient to join-next year! The Ford Family grew up swimming in all their pools and competitively on swim team. Hopefully this will continue with our Allred Clan.
We are so proud of our little 5 year old. First, Jack is the youngest person on his team, and secondly, with only his second month into practices, Jack swam faster free than some of the older team members, breast stroke is another story... We are not expecting Michael Phelps swimming from this 5 year old, nor expect Olympic times, we are just thrilled to see him finish the race! We, however, are so proud of him and anxiously await what the coming months bring for him and our family on swim team.
