Tuesday, August 26, 2008-Today was Jack's first day of pre school (aka Pre K). After much thought, we decided for him to attend the second year of pre school at Monte Vista Elementary (the same elementary he will attend for kindergarten and where he attended pre school last year). Darrin and I heard so many raves about Emily Johnson-one of the pre school teachers-and so felt like we would give this a shot. And just like everyone else, we just fell in love with Ms. Emily and all her teacher's aids. It's a 2:1 ratio. It doesn't get better than that!
For those who are wondering, we enrolled Jack in the mentoring program offered by most elementary schools. It allows mentoring students-children like Jack without disabilities-and those with disabilities and/or delays. We just love the program. We love what it has taught him and will teach him-tolerance, acceptance, love, patience, and overall kindness to ALL children. We were actually going to enroll Jack (along with his best bud) into a "private" pre school, but decided that this is where he needs to be right now. Jack was so thrilled to be back at school, which makes sending him off a little easier. Next year he gets to ride the bus!

I am glad his back in school. It is always bitter sweet when that time comes. Robbie does not go back until the 4th. He had a back to school thing yesterday, but we did not get to it as I was at the hospital most of the day. Thats ok though he knows her and the classroom anyway. I wish they were going together, but you also have to do what your gut tells you. Are they going the same days? Tues/Thurs?? Anyways, Next year should be a fun one! Those two on the bus.......!
